Subject:5 Alina and Johan icons
Time:11:17 pm
Hi there, these are the first icons I've made in many years so they aren't anything special but I thought I would share them with the community :)

They are of Alina Cojocaru and Johan Kobborg from the Royal Ballet.

Subject:Just a quick intro...
Time:12:04 pm
Just found this community!

I have an 11 year old who has been doing ballet since she was 3 - and is now dancing on scholarship at Cornish College of the Arts here in Seattle. The dance dept is working so great with her - saying she has amazing talent and drive for her age - (but we are biased cause we are her parents haha). But anyways - she has decided at this young age she wants to do this as a profession and wishes to dance for the Royal Ballet and attend the Royal Academy of Dance starting in Highschool....

We are in the process (we have 3 years) of relocating to the UK so this audition would be possible - but also would relocate there for my husbands music. She has a RAD teacher and also another teacher who attended the RAD school - so they are hoping to prepare her as much as they can.

I am not a stage mom (thank GOD) but I do think she has talent and want to support her passion.

I hope to be able to contribute to this community!

Hello, I'm looking for this dancer's photos of any quality. I've managed to find out only Thomas's pics as the Swan at the official Matthew Bourne and Swan Lake's sites, but I'd love to see him more. Could you help me? Thanks in advance.

hello,
I work in Moscow state theatre "New ballet".
Last year we got the premier of plastic ballet to
Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
We’ve shown it on different stages in Russia and now
We’d like to present it abroad.
There is a lot of information on net about dance and ballet festival,
But some of them don’t exist any more, some have outdated contacts.
Do you know any real festivals which are open to invite
Contemporary ballet troupe?
Or may be stage or theatre which can help with tour organization?

Thank you in advance.

Alright, I have a question for you all from a friend of mine, and any answers and/or advice would be very much appreciated:

If you are considering a career path in ballet, how old is 'too old'? How long should you have been dancing for? And we both assume that just lessons at a local dance studio wouldn't be enough, and would a national ballet school be the only option? If you are 15-almost-sixteen, is it too late to be accepted, and are you too far behind? She has had a bit of training as a young child, but hasn't danced in years, although she is in very excellent physical shape. Remember, this is for National Ballet Company, Royal Ballet style of thing.

Thanks a lot, and I (and she) wish you all tons of luck and rhythm.

Hello, this is my first post here!

My name is Jessica and I am a former student of ballet. When I was dancing, I had my heart set on someday of dancing with the London Royal Ballet. I was trained by someone who danced with them, and along side those in the comapany at present. Alas, after an injury, I was never the same and had to quit. But I still love the ballet terribly, and The Royal Ballet is my favorite company.

My favorite dancers: Dame Margot Fonteyn, Anna Pavlova, and Nina Ananiashvili.

Well, I guess that's my introduction! :)

Jessica

Hi everyone :-)
I just had to make a post here- last night I saw Swan Lake for the first time at The Royal Opera House- it was amazing!! Although it wasn't the first ballet I'd been to, it was my first time seeing the Royal ballet perform. It was just so beautiful- the set, the music, the costumes, the dancers- I cried no less than four times- the first time being as soon as the curtain first went up!
Leanne Benjamin was just astounding as Odette/Odile, really really fantastic. I just wish I had the money to go more often!
